Description

Michael Jackson’s one and only autobiography, Moonwalk, will be made available to the public again starting October 13, 2009. The three essentials to achieve anything worthwile are, first, hard work; second, stick-to-it-iveness; third, common sense' (Thomas Edison).

About the Author: Michael Joseph Jackson (August 29, 1958 - June 25, 2009), dubbed the 'King of Pop', was one of the most commercially successful entertainers of all time. Reading it certainly brings the reader closer to understanding the man behind the almost surreal, none too happy showbiz exterior. Kralın ne kadar zorlu bir çocukluk yaşadığını tekrar okuduğum kitapta albümlerin yapılış süreçlerini ve kişisel olarak yaşadıklarını okumak gerçekten çok değerliydi. It is true that talking about oneself in the first person is not easy, especially if one has to deal with personal subjects, such as shadowy parts and other difficulties in one’s life. Although it has been hailed as an "autobiography", I didn't feel I got much in the way of revelation, or that I now know Michael Jackson the man any more than I did before I started this book. While I wasn't even born when most of the events in this book take place it's nice to see what kind of childhood he had, even if it wasn't the best with all the performing and traveling. It only skims the surface and gives just enough insight, a few morsels and titbits into his life as it was up to then, but you can't help but feel there was much more left unsaid. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average.

My friends, my close associates, know there’s another Michael that I find it difficult to present in the outlandish “public” situations I often find myself in. Very few are captioned, and it would have been interesting at least to know which year some of the shots were taken. Come down the travelators, exit Sainsbury's, turn right and follow the pedestrianised walkway to Crown Walk and turn right - and Coles will be right in front of you.

It was first published in 1988 with Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis and Shaye Areheart as editors at Doubleday Publishing Company. However, Jackson's controversial appearance and actions have damaged his reputation in the eyes of some of the public and album sales have been in decline since the mid 1990s. he has written such a cute things, and there were so beautiful text that I just cried many times while reading! No matter what anybody will ever say about him, Michael Jackson is, has been, and always will be the greatest musical artist in the history of this world!

He talked about not being able to have friends his own age unless they were in show business because all the other people he met, treated him like a celebrity -- always grabbing at him and wanting something other than friendship.

Forse mi aspettavo di trovare aneddoti e banalità sulla vita quotidiana di Michael, tipo cosa mangiava a colazione, com'era stato il primo bacio, che auto guidava. Nevertheless, it is an honest, sometimes soul-baring memoir, far more than a recitation of achievements. Following the half-title is a leaf with a facsimile drawing by MJ and, and then his facsimile signature appears on the title page.

The biography of an author written by himself… So much has been written about him that finally, shouldn’t we just go back to the source and dive into the writings of the main person concerned? Bir Michael Jackson hayranı olarak koleksiyonumun son parçasını da tamamlamamın mutluluğunu yaşıyorum. Michael describes his childhood, rise to fame, stresses of showbiz, love for children and peace and his hopes for the future. After this, Jackson went on hiatus, traveling to countries such as Bahrain, before starting work on new material in Ireland. Some more would have been welcome, but he does not go into detail on this side of his career until its relaunch with 'Off The Wall' in 1979 and the phenomenally successful albums which followed it, namely the all-sales-breaking 'Thriller' and 'Bad'.

Interesting to watch soon after reading all about what lead up to that recording and fame that followed. There are very few books written on the art of storytelling, how to grip listeners, how to get a group of people together and amuse them. When Doubleday approached me about doing this book, I was interested in being able to talk about how I feel in a book that would be mine – my words and my voice.
